Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Watch 7 series later this year, and according to recent rumors, the upcoming smartwatches may feature a new processor, the Exynos 5535. This information comes from reliable tipster Roland Quandt via SamMobile.
The Exynos 5535 is believed to be the successor to the Exynos W930, which was used in last year’s Galaxy Watch 6 models. It’s likely that the new chip will be marketed as the Exynos W940. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information available yet on the specific improvements or enhancements that the Exynos 5535 will bring over its predecessor.
Last year’s Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic received positive reviews for their design, software experience, and overall performance. However, one area where they fell short was battery life. With the introduction of the Exynos 5535, Samsung may be aiming to improve the battery life of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 series. New chipsets are often designed to be more energy-efficient while providing increased performance, which could translate to longer battery life for users.
Other than the new processor, little else is known about the Galaxy Watch 7 series. It’s safe to assume that there will be both a standard model and a Classic model with a bezel, similar to previous years. The Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic were released in July 2023 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, so it’s possible that the Galaxy Watch 7 series will follow suit and debut sometime in July 2024.
Until more information becomes available, we can only speculate about the potential features and improvements that the Galaxy Watch 7 series might bring. Improved battery life would certainly be welcome, and it’s possible that Samsung may also introduce new health and fitness tracking features, improved connectivity options, or updated user interfaces.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see what Samsung has in store for the Galaxy Watch 7 series. Stay tuned for updates and more information as it becomes available. Meanwhile here over here to read about what we would like to see in the new Galaxy Watch 7.
