Not to be outdone by recent announcements by Samsung, OnePlus has announced a new ColorOS update for their OnePlus 12 and 11 series, which brings several AI-powered features to the devices. The update comes as both Google and Samsung highlight their own AI-based features for their respective flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 series and Galaxy S24.
A Reddit user was the first to spot the February ColorOS update in China, as reported by Mishaal Rahman on X. Initially, it was believed that the update was limited to the OnePlus 11. However, a post on OnePlus’ community forums in China revealed that the update was also available for the OnePlus 12 series.
Changelog Highlights AI-Powered Features
The changelog for the February ColorOS update shows several AI-powered features, including:
- AI Call Summarizer: A feature that listens to phone calls and summarizes them for easy reference. It can extract information such as times, places, action items, and other key details from conversations.
- AIGC Remover: A feature similar to Magic Eraser, which removes unwanted people or objects from photos using AI.
- Article Summarizer: A feature that condenses articles into shorter summaries for easier consumption.
- Breeno Touch Upgrade: An upgraded version of Breeno Touch that scans screens for content and suggests related services based on what users are seeing.
The OnePlus 11 devices will receive build PHB110_22.214.171.1243(CN01), while OnePlus 12 phones will receive build PJD110_126.96.36.1995(CN01). The rollout appears to be happening now for eligible devices in China. It remains unclear when these features will become available for global models.
The latest ColorOS update from OnePlus brings AI-powered features to the OnePlus 12 and 11 series, following in the footsteps of Google and Samsung. With features like AI Call Summarizer, AIGC Remover, Article Summarizer, and an upgraded Breeno Touch, OnePlus continues to enhance the user experience for its customers. Although it’s uncertain when these features will reach global models, the update marks another step forward for OnePlus in the AI-driven smartphone race.
